The School of Environment and Science is a foundation School of Griffith University within the Sciences Group offering innovative and quality science education. The School is home to the disciplines of Environmental Planning & Management, Bioscience, Ecology & Evolution, Marine Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Forensics & Archaeology, Applied Mathematics & Physics, and Earth Sciences. We offer a wide range of pioneering degree programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies including Environmental Science, Marine Science, Forensic Science, Biomedical Science, Medical Science (pre-medicine program) as well as a comprehensive Bachelor of Science.
The School has an excellent research profile in the sciences and maintains close linkages with cognate research centres and institutes, with many of the academic staff in the School also being members of these research centres:
Cities Research Institute, Environmental Futures Research Institute, Centre for Quantum Dynamics, Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery, Institute for Glycomics, Australian Rivers Institute, and Queensland Micro- and Nanotechnology Centre.
The School is seeking an innovative and energetic Senior Lecturer in the area of Urban and Environmental Planning, to contribute to and grow in this high-performing teaching and research environment. The successful applicant will have demonstrated teaching experience in statutory planning, policy making and impact analysis. In collaboration with staff within the School and the wider Griffith University community, you will contribute to research and scholarship in a field closely aligned with one of our Institutes, and to the development of the profession.
This is a continuing full-time position located in the Environmental Planning and Management Discipline and is based at the Gold Coast campus but may require some teaching at the Nathan campus.
To be successful within this role, you will hold a PhD in Urban and Environmental Planning and will have demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in contributing to teaching at the tertiary education level. The successful candidate will also have the demonstrated ability to conduct and publish quality research. Professional experience in the planning sector would be desirable. You will be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to contribute to the positive culture and aspirations of the School and University.
Level C: $115,593 – $133,289 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $135,243 – $155,948 per annum.
