*Job Description*

i) Position Summary:
Postdoctoral positions are available in the Sharma Lab, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Stevens of Institute of Technology. The researcher in this position will perform experiments on an individual and directed basis that pertain to current research topics of the Sharma lab. Some of the responsibilities include a) Synthetic route scouting and reaction screening; b) Synthesize, purify and characterize medicinally important organic compounds; c) Documenting and presenting scientific results in lab group meetings, research publications/conferences. ii) Qualifications:
a) Essential: PhD (Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry)
b) Desirable:
- 0-1 years of postdoctoral experience
- Expertise in multistep organic synthesis/methodology development and structure elucidation of complex organic compounds using NMR
- Experience in asymmetric synthesis, handling of air/moisture sensitive chemicals, design and synthesis of medicinally important compounds for their structure-activity relationships
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong team spirit and good interpersonal skills
