Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

The Center for Biomedical Research/RCMI is seeking to fill one non-tenure-track position at the Research Associate Professor level starting August 2021. Duties include the following:
Design and carry out high level, complex research experiments while functioning independently under the general direction of the principal investigators

Demonstrate at Track Record of Extramural Research Funding
Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in biology, including cellular, molecular and organismal biology or physiology.
Supervise masters and undergraduate student research
Perform molecular and cellular biology research
Supervise and manage a team of research scientists in alignment with project priorities
Seek Additional Funding opportunities for the Department and Center for Biomedical Research Establish a laboratory focused on Disparities Research

Qualifications

Must have a PhD in a biological science such as molecular cell biology, cancer biology, or biotechnology Must have Post-Doctoral or 5 + years of research experience evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals
Must have evidence of having successfully received funding for earlier research through competitive grant programs from federal agencies such as NIH or NSF
Must have prior teaching experience at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
Strong written skills demonstrated in authorship in peer reviewed articles
Must communicate effectively interpersonally within a group research setting.

Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience; * *Position available initially for 2-3 years and may extend with salary contingent upon outside funding.
