JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Department of Mathematical Sciences seeks applicants for a one-year short-term Assistant Teaching Professor. Responsibilities for this position include teaching six classes at the undergraduate level, with the potential to teach graduate courses. Additional duties include serving on a departmental committee, potentially serving as a course coordinator, and student advising. Candidates will be expected to participate in departmental activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has over 40 faculty and postdocs. Our undergraduate programs in Mathematical Sciences and Actuarial Mathematics have over 200 students and our graduate programs have approximately 100 students. At the graduate level, we have several master's programs (Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, and Mathematics for Educators) and we offer PhDs in Mathematical Sciences and in Statistics. The department has a strong reputation for its cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and for its successful programs addressing mathematical and statistical problems in industry, with a Center for Industrial Mathematics and Statistics (CIMS). Faculty in Mathematical Sciences participate in interdisciplinary programs such as Data Science and Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.

The successful candidate is expected to deliver outstanding teaching in a range of courses to support the educational mission of Mathematical Sciences. Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
