FACULTY POSITIONS IN SOCIAL MEDIA STUDIES
The College of Arts and Sciences at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI is seeking to fill tenure-track positions in social media studies as follows.
We are seeking an Assistant Professor of Computer Science (9-month; tenure-track) with specialization in social computing/social media systems and the implications of such algorithms on cognitive neuroscience as it relates to individual and group behavior, online ecology, tribalism, trust, politics, etc. The candidate will have a strong background in computer science with interest in graduate and undergraduate teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate research projects.
Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in computer science or a closely related field with emphasis on social media, a record of peer-reviewed publications, and a strong interest in social media or network analysis research are required. Postdoctoral, teaching, and grant experience is highly desirable.
Responsibilities: Collaboration between this and a corresponding position in Psychology (https://socialsciences.academickeys.com/job/etdsa6mu) is required and lead to the establishment of a strong, collaborative, externally funded research in social media studies. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level and service to the department are required.
