The Clemson Composites Center is actively recruiting highly motivated graduate students to perform cutting-edge research on polymer chemistry with a focus on sustainable and biobased materials synthesis and plastics recycling and upcycling for automotive, aerospace and energy applications. The aim of our research is to unravel the fundamental relationships between the chemistry, structure, and performance of sustainable and recyclable materials.
We welcome candidates from all disciplines of science and engineering, including Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. Candidates with a strong background in polymer synthesis, organic chemistry, and chemical recycling are preferred. We work closely with research groups from leading institutions in the U.S. and national labs such as USDA.
Our group is part of the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CUICAR), located in Greenville, South Carolina. CUICAR is one of the premier automotive research, innovation and educational enterprises in the country.
