A two-year Post-Doctoral position is available to work in the laboratory of Dr. James Bina in the Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
The Bina laboratory seeks a highly motivated individual with a recently completed Ph.D. in microbiology or a closely related field. The applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident, have at least one first-author publication and a strong background in bacterial molecular genetics or bacterial physiology. Experience in genomics, genetics, bacterial pathogenesis or antimicrobial resistance is desirable. The Post-Doctoral candidate will investigate how multiple drug efflux systems impact virulence and environmental adaptation in the human pathogen Vibrio cholerae.
