Te Kura Aronui - The School of Social Sciences comprises a number of programmes including Anthropology, Environmental Planning, Geography, History, International Relations and Security Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work.
The School provides teaching and research in all these diverse subject areas. A range of papers are on offer in Social Sciences, at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional training levels. Teaching takes place on both the Hamilton and Tauranga Campuses.
Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking a continuing, full-time Lecturer to join our Geography programme. This role will involve research based teaching in post-graduate papers as well as relevant under-graduate teaching, and the development of a research programme and supervision of research students. The specific research areas are in human and physical geography, Māori and indigenous geographies.

The successful candidate will have the following:
- Proven expertise in geography
- Evidence of their ability to conduct and publish quality research
- Prior proven teaching skills at a tertiary level including ability to supervise
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of the following areas: human and physical geography, Māori and indigenous geographies
- Good organisation, administration and interpersonal skills

The salary range is $79,337 to $95,551 per year. The salary will be commensurate with the level of appointment.
