JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Worcester Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Professor, open rank. Candidates who have engaged in activities to educate a broad and diverse group of students are preferred. This position is a one-year appointment with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2024.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking outstanding applicants in chemistry or biochemistry. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a passion for teaching and mentoring students and bring high-quality, rigorous, innovative, and inclusive pedagogical teaching methods into the classroom.

Teaching responsibilities may include introductory and advanced organic chemistry, organic laboratory, and biochemistry laboratory (enzymology and protein characterization). Preference will be given to candidates also willing to advise or co-advise senior research projects. The visiting professor will be supported to engage in scholarship and professional development activities as opportunities permit.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field and experience teaching undergraduates. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in mentoring undergraduate students as demonstrated by endorsements from referees and accomplishments highlighted as part of the application.
