The Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach one introductory lecture course in each semester of the 2024-25 academic year. In Fall 2024, this course will be AST 0010 - Wanderers in Space. In Spring 2025, it will be AST 0009 - Concepts of the Cosmos. Both courses are large lecture-style courses with TA support. Prior years’ syllabi and educational materials will be provided upon hire.

The successful applicant will be provided with office space and support if they wish to pursue their own research as well. They would also have the opportunity to strengthen their teaching expertise through interactions with our faculty and benefiting from our strong traditions in excellence in physics education.

Qualifications

Applicants should have completed a PhD in physics, astronomy, or a related field. Teaching experience is recommended.
