The Research Mass Spectrometry Core is seeking a Research Associate. This role involves conducting analytical testing and sample preparation for LC-MS analysis, including lipidomics, proteomics, and small molecular analyses, while maintaining accurate experimental records and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs). A significant portion of the responsibilities includes operating and maintaining LC-MS laboratory equipment, ensuring reliable data acquisition, performing routine maintenance, assisting with instrument calibrations and troubleshooting, and coordinating repairs as needed.
Additionally, the position requires laboratory management and coordination, including assessing service requests, scheduling lab activities, preparing monthly calendars, and ensuring personnel availability to fulfill workflow demands. Serving as a liaison for the lab, the role facilitates effective communication and coordination with relevant parties. Administrative duties include record maintenance, laboratory organization, and safety compliance, such as developing systems for sample tracking, data management, and quality control, as well as ensuring proper labeling, storage, and disposal of samples. The role also involves inventory management, ordering supplies, tracking service contracts, and ensuring regulatory compliance regarding hazardous materials, waste disposal, and laboratory safety protocols.
