Postdoctoral Research Position – Biocatalysis

The College of Engineering, department of Medicines for All Institute (M4ALL), at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to assist with research projects that involve developing effective and efficient chemical and/or biological synthesis processes for pharmaceuticals. The projects offer opportunity for both academia and industrial collaborations.
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical biology, or related field
Expertise in biocatalysis and/or bioconjugation
Expertise in associated analytical and characterization techniques, such as FPLC/HPLC
Excellent communication skills, including composing manuscripts
Expertise in production and purification of biomolecules
Experience in (bio)chemical and solids characterization technique
Interest and ability to mentor junior team members, and ensure highest levels of laboratory safety
Conduct research on the use of biomolecules for reactions.
Supervision of Master and Bachelor students that perform research on this topic
Assist in writing research grants for various national and international funding agencies
