The Department of Physiology of the University of Maryland School of Medicine (http://medschool.umaryland.edu/physiology), invites outstanding scientists to apply for a tenure-track faculty position. The expected rank is Assistant Professor or higher, with rank and tenure status dependent on the candidate’s qualifications.
The Department of Physiology is renowned for its research excellence. Our internationally recognized faculty lead cutting-edge research programs in molecular, cellular, and systems physiology. Strengths of the current faculty include neuroscience, cardiovascular, muscle, and endocrine physiology. Additionally, the University of Maryland campus offers state-of-the-art core facilities for microscopy, imaging, genetics, genomics, proteomics, physiological phenotyping, and structural biology. Our faculty also enjoy a highly collaborative and interactive scientific environment in the heart of downtown Baltimore. NIH-funded training programs in neuroscience, muscle biology, cardiac biology, vascular biology, and integrative membrane biology enhance our research activities.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have a strong history of scholarly activity. The successful candidate will develop an independent and funded research program that complements existing faculty strengths and provides exciting new opportunities for collaborative work.
