Description
The Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at the University of California, Berkeley which is part of the department of Industrial Engineering Operations Research at the University of California, Berkeley is seeking an Associate/Full Specialist to assist faculty and researchers in the X-lab. The candidate will perform work under Professor Ikhlaq Sidhu.

The X-Lab will implement Data-X. Data-X is a framework designed at UC Berkeley for learning and applying AI, data science, and emerging technologies. The Data-X framework is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, by exposing students to state-of-the-art implementation techniques and mindsets. Data-X offers (a) Rapid learning and implementation of AI and Data-related projects, (b) Covers the open-source software tools needed for these types of projects, (c) Develops the necessary mindset and behaviors to deliver innovative projects within a real-life development process, (d) Brings together students, faculty, new ventures, and large firms so they can learn from each other in a manner that is both technically deep and yet broad, and (e) Lectures, code samples, slides, references and everything needed for real life projects and education all in one place. The DataX lab supports the popular UC Berkeley course 'Applied Data Science with Venture Applications', commonly known as the 'DataX' class, educating hundreds of undergraduate and graduate students each year.
