We are seeking a recent graduate (BS) to join our group as a research technician in our laboratory on a collaborative project with Women and Infants Hospital. Work will involve the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of small molecules inhibitors as potential anti-infectives against neonatal Candidiasis.
This is a temporary 1-year appointment beginning in September 2020.
Responsibilities will include synthesis and characterization of molecules, work with collaborators at Women & Infants hospital to synthesize and evaluate potential inhibitors and characterize the mode-of-action. The candidate will assist in supervision of undergraduate researchers, coordinating with collaborators, and general lab management.
This position is best filled by an individual with a Bachelor of Science Chemistry. A background and some experience in organic chemistry is required. The Research Technician should demonstrate attentiveness to detail and possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ability to gather, interpret, analyze and report data; effectively manage time, prioritize and follow through; schedule and complete multiple projects with varied schedules; and work both independently and as a part of a team is required.
