The Spectroscopic Ellipsometry group at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, USA (http://ellipsometry.nmsu.edu) has an opening for a Ph.D. candidate in 2022 (January or August).

A BS or MS degree in Physics is required. Prior experience in ellipsometry at the BS or MS level is preferred. Current areas of interests include temperature dependence of the optical constants of novel materials (especially infrared materials for photodetectors and optical filters), optical Hall effect, femtosecond ellipsometry at ELI Beamlines, correlation between electronic band structure and optical constants.
