Job Description Summary
The Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry will teach courses in Chemistry including graduate courses in quantum chemistry and computational chemistry; advise and mentor students in the department; contribute to the development of a vigorous, externally funded research program and the publication of peer-reviewed, scientific articles; coordinate the efficient employment of computation resources for carrying out highly specialized, quantum-chemistry calculations; and provide service to the department, university, and profession. Research focus: quantum chemistry, including the development of novel electronic propagator methods and their computer implementation.

A PhD in chemistry or closely related field is required at the time of hire. The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States on the date the appointment is scheduled to begin and must be able to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, record of teaching, and research in quantum chemistry method development and its computer implementations and application.
