Position Description: The Guangxi Key Laboratory for Geoinformatics at Guilin University of Technology, Guilin, China has two immediate open positions of post-doctoral researchers. The individual will be responsible for analyzing global land carbon change using remotely sensed image data, and creating cartographic products under the direction of the Principle Investigator. The individual is required to make a substantial intellectual contribution to the project and participate in ongoing team activities.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Environmental Remote Sensing, or Geography, or GIS with experience in global land carbon change is required. Experience in remote sensing image processing and GIS spatial analysis, demonstrable competence using analysis software (e.g. ArcGIS, ERDAS/Imagine, ENVI, etc.), excellent writing and verbal communication skills are strongly required. The ideal candidate would also have experience IDL programming. The candidate will work with graduate students, faculty in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Starting Date: The two positions will be filled immediately upon identification of the suitable candidates.
Salary: $20k/year (10 months) with free accommodations, plus benefits, but no relocation fee
Period: The original appointment is for one year. Extension is absolutely possible depending on performance.
