The School of Mathematics and Computer Science at Lake Superior State University invites applicants for a tenure-track position in mathematics, beginning Fall 2019. We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and broadly trained faculty member with a demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship. In particular, we seek someone dedicated to improvement in both developmental and general education mathematics. Responsibilities include teaching a minimum of 12 hours per semester, working with colleagues to strengthen our programs through both teaching and curriculum development, assessment of student learning, University service and scholarly activities, and support of student recruitment and retention efforts.
Masters Degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education or closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate level coursework in mathematics.
Evidence of experience teaching at the developmental and undergraduate levels
Excellent oral and written communication skills
ABD or Ph.D. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education or closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate level course work in both mathematics and mathematics education.
3 or more years of experience teaching at the undergraduate level
Experience with scientific graphing calculators and/or computer algebra systems. Experience or interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
