We invite applications for a postdoc position in acoustic and elastic metamaterials/devices. Ideal candidates will have a strong record of accomplishment in the development of solid-state acoustic devices and transducers, phononic structures and acoustic metamaterials. Ideal candidates will be a leader in a research team to establish a research program using both computational and experimental approaches at SJTU. A Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. Creative and independent research design and development will be expected. Candidates will also be expected to publish papers and mentor undergraduate and graduate students. Applicants with good verbal and written English skills are required.
The Sonic Materials and MEMS Lab (SMML) has extensive experiences with resonant micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), solid-state acoustic/phononic materials and devices, optical measurement and control of MEMS. The SMML is developing a new platform to excite, measure and image acoustics and vibrations which can be directly applicable to the characterization of new acoustic/elastic metamaterials.
