The Department of Mathematicsat the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, anticipates the appointment of two faculty positions, effective August 2024, at the junior (tenure-track assistant professor) level. Salary will be competitive.

Strong candidates working in any area of applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. For one of the positions there will be particular interest in applicants working in the areas of mathematical biology, computational neuroscience, network science, and complex systems. Post-doctoral experience is expected, although not absolutely required. The normal teaching load for research-active faculty is three semester courses per academic year.

The Department's 36 mathematics faculty and 70 doctoral students pursue research in algebra, applied mathematics, geometry/topology and analysis.
