Positions will have flexible starting dates in summer 2019 or later. Matters of rank and salary will be decided commensurate with qualifications. The standard teaching load at OIST is one semester-long graduate course per year. OIST provides faculty members with funding for postdoctoral scholars, travel, visitors, and for organizing conferences and workshops held at OIST.

Successful candidates are expected to establish an active and independent program of research, to supervise Ph.D. students, to teach in the graduate program, and perform service tasks.
