The Department of Computer Systems Technology at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position starting January 2020. The appointment is expected to be at the Assistant Professor level. An appointment at a higher rank may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. In particular the Department is seeking qualified candidates who can develop a collaborative and innovative research program with a strong expertise in research in cybersecurity and/or computer networking related. The successful candidate is expected to involve undergraduate and graduate students in active research and contribute to the growth of the newly established PhD Program in Applied Science Technology.
The hired faculty is also expected to show commitment to teaching excellence and service. She/he is expected to teach courses both at the graduate and undergraduate level, develop courses and curricula, direct students in research, and provide service to the University and community. Individuals with experience in inquiry-based teaching, student-centered learning, and/or in engaging students in investigative laboratory exercises are particularly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in the field cybersecurity and/or computer networking. The selected candidate is expected to secure extramural funding, and direct the research activities of MS students in Information Technology and PhD students in Applied Science and Technology and related areas.
A candidate whose teaching and research efforts will promote the mission of the Computer Systems Technology Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology as well as the University is highly desired. Service to the Department, the College and the University is also a requirement of the position. The selected faculty will have the ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculties/colleagues in the sciences, math, and technology areas.
