The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated academic to join our School of Biological Sciences as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Genomics. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver innovative research and teaching programs in the field of Genomics, contributing to the advancement of the School’s academic and professional objectives.

As a Lecturer you would develop a leading research program in genomics in any of its forms and contribute to the education program of the School of Biological Sciences in areas broadly related to your expertise.

As a Senior Lecturer you would lead an outstanding research program in genomics in any of its forms and make a significant contribution to the education program of the School of Biological Sciences in areas broadly related to your expertise.

We will consider applications from academics who work on any system, including model organisms and humans, but we particularly encourage applications from academics who work with plants.

We invite applications from any area of genomics, including but not limited to:

  • Applied genomics
  • Comparative genomics
  • Computational genomics
  • Ecological genomics
  • Evolutionary genomics
  • Functional genomics
  • Metagenomics
  • Population genomics 

Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to secure external funding and build a research group including students and staff.
