Job Purpose
The Department of Applied Biology at the College of Sciences seeks to appoint a qualified faculty at the level of Assistant Professor in the field of Stem Cells and Tissue Culture to commence teaching in Fall 2026.
Successful candidates are expected to contribute effectively to teaching different biotechnology courses such as Tissue Culture, Cell & Developmental Biology, Stem Cells engineering, Animal Biotechnology, Ethics of Biotechnology as well as gene expression regulation, and to contribute effectively to the fourth-year graduation projects.

Main accountabilities & expectations
Contribute effectively to carry out teaching of diverse theoretical and practical biology/biotechnology courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels such as Tissue Culture, Stem Cells engineering, Cell and Developmental Biology, Animal Biotechnology, Ethics of Biotechnology as well as gene expression regulation.
Conduct high quality research work in the biotechnology area & contribute effectively to build research groups in biotechnology.
Secure external and internal research funds.
Provide academic and professional advising to students
Contribute to UG and PG curricula and programs development.
Contribute to the academic assessment processes.
Contribute to community services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Biotechnology from a university recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education in the UAE, with specialization in areas such as Stem Cells, Tissue Culture, or Animal Biotechnology.
Minimum of two years of undergraduate-level teaching experience, with a demonstrated commitment to student-centered, hands-on learning and the use of innovative teaching methodologies.
A strong record of peer-reviewed publications, with a research focus addressing key challenges in biomedical sciences and the potential to translate laboratory findings into health, environmental, and industrial applications.
Demonstrated expertise in biotechnology and molecular biology techniques.
Postdoctoral research experience is highly desirable and will be considered an asset.
Proven track record of research publications in the fields of Tissue Culture, Stem Cells, Stem cell engineering, gene expression regulation and Cell and Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology.
A high level of professionalism, with the ability to work collaboratively in academic and research environments.
