Role Description: Two postdoctoral positions are currently open in the Chang-Deng Hu lab at Purdue University for a self-motivated, productive, and enthusiastic investigator who are willing to pursue innovative and multidisciplinary research. The Hu lab works on mechanisms and targeting of therapy-induced neuroendocrine tumors, particularly neuroendocrine prostate cancer. Major research areas are roles of protein arginine methyltransferases (e.g., PRMT5) in epigenetic reprogramming of therapy-induced neuroendocrine differentiation and development of therapeutic agents targeting epigenetic regulators. One Postdoctoral Research Associate is expected to work on mouse genetics to elucidate the roles of genetic and epigenetic regulators in therapy-induced neuroendocrine prostate cancer, and the other Postdoctoral Research Associate is expected to develop novel therapeutics by targeting critical protein-protein interactions for treatment of neuroendocrine prostate cancer and other neuroendocrine tumors.
Preferred Qualifications: Newly graduated Ph.D. students who trained in life sciences and biomedical sciences and are familiar with various experimental approaches, including but not limited to molecular biology, cell biology, mouse genetics, biochemistry, drug discovery, cancer biology, cell biology, genome editing, ‘Omics’ and/or bioinformatics, and have strong publication record and outstanding communication skills are encouraged to apply.
