The Environmental Microbial Biofilm Biotechnology (EMBB) research group led by Dr. Bin CAO is affiliated with the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) and the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The research efforts of EMBB group members are focused on understanding biofilm-mediated environmental processes and harnessing the power of microbial biofilms to address environmental issues.

 

The EMBB research group is looking for a highly motivated Project Officer (PO) with an interest in biofilm engineering. The PO will work on a project aiming is to understand how biofilms respond to environmental stimuli and use the insights to develop approaches for biofilm engineering.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rigorously design and perform experiments.

  • Perform in-depth, critical data analyses.

  • Effectively communicate through presentations and high-quality journal publications.

  • Assist in supervising research students in the group.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science or Bachelors of Engineering in environmental microbiology, microbial biotechnology, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience on bacterial biofilms.

  • A strong interest in interdisciplinary research.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with group members and collaborators.

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English, as need to conduct presentations and publish in journals.

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and with minimum supervision.
