The Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York invites applications for a faculty position in experimental chemistry related to human health at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Candidates with research interests in chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, chemical synthesis, and bioanalysis are particularly encouraged to apply. This position is part of a multi-faculty recruitment effort supported by the Office of the Provost under the Disciplinary Excellence initiative. The successful candidate should have demonstrated success in developing a vigorous and federally funded research program, and will be expected to be committed to teaching a diverse student body at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to serve the Department, university, and discipline. The Department of Chemistry at the University at Buffalo is entering a period of unprecedented growth supercharged by the Disciplinary Excellence initiative. The current search is phase one of a multi-faculty hiring effort aimed at enhancing the existing strengths in chemical biology and medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate will teach and train students in these programs and will complement existing strengths involving the design and discovery of drugs, synthetic chemistry, disease diagnostics and therapeutics, biomimetic chemistry, biosensing, molecular recognition and bioanalysis.
