Old Dominion University’s Department of Political Science and Geography seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2024. We are seeking a geographer to teach undergraduate and graduate courses on campus and online whose research addresses the nexus of environmental geography and applied geospatial analysis. The successful candidate will be able to teach existing courses in our undergraduate program in Geography and contribute to expanding offerings in physical and environmental geography.
Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities
Candidates must have a demonstrated ability to conduct research, publish, and teach in geography, and a demonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
A PhD in geography or closely related field is required. Candidates who are ABD are expected to complete the degree by August 2024.
Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of potential grant writing success and competency in emerging geospatial analysis techniques, such as Uncrewed Aerial Systems.
