The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research in mathematical logic, particularly in the area of computability theory and applications to mathematical structures and processes

  • Collaborate with the research team on ongoing projects, exchanging ideas and insights, and contributing to joint publications.

  • Assist in mentoring and guiding graduate students in their research projects related to mathematical logic.

  • Teach or tutor basic undergraduate courses for the division

 

Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, with a focus on mathematical logic.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, as evidenced by a track record of quality publications in reputable conferences or journals.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to approach complex problems with creativity and precision
