Position: Adjunct Assistant Professor and Laboratory Coordinator

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

The laboratory manager will assist in achieving the following:
Maintain the chemistry department stockroom
Maintain chemical and lab supply inventory and MSDS according to OSHA regulations and institutional safety policies
Schedule chemical waste pickup and management
Provide instructional support and laboratory prep for undergraduate chemistry labs
Maintain the Chemical Hygiene Plan
Oversee compliance with all state, federal, and local regulations pertaining to the use of hazardous chemicals within the chemistry department
Regularly update inventory and ordering of supplies from vendors in conjunction with chemistry department faculty and office personnel and
Participate in professional development activities.

Teaching responsibilities

Teach one to two sections of CHEM 233 and one section of CHEM 361.


M.S. degree in Chemistry or Biology
One year of undergraduate teaching experience
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in a team setting
Knowledge and skills to effectively interact with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity
Strong organizational and computer skills
Capacity to lead and organize undergraduate teaching assistants

Commensurate with education, training and experience
