  • PhD Position in Data Anonymisation
    Internet Technologies and Systems
    Hasso-Plattner-Institute, University of Potsdam

    The Internet Technologies and Systems Chair headed by Prof. Dr. Christoph Meinel at the Hasso-Plattner-Institute, is seeking a PhD student to join his team of researchers working on data security and privacy.

    The position is open to applicants interested in working on a PhD thesis on streaming data anonymisation.

    Funding.

    The PhD studentship will provide a tax-free stipend for 3 years. It also includes a budget to support publication at leading international conferences and journals, and research equipment. The Hasso-Plattner-Institute also offers excellent working and research conditions.

    Eligibility.

    The opening is suitable for an EU or International candidate with a Master’s degree with distinction (or equivalent university degree) in Computer Science. Candidates must have good skills in programming, linear algebra, and statistics. We also expect an eagerness to participate actively in teamwork, outstanding analytical skills, and a strong interest in current data security/privacy research.

    Communication skills.

    Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English. Fluency in German is desirable but not required. However, some commitment to learning German is expected.

    Application requirements.

    Candidates need to meet all the prerequisites for admission to the PhD in IT Systems Engineering.
