  • Assistant Research Professor - Experimental Fusion Plasma

    The Physics Department at Auburn University announces the availability of a position in experimental fusion plasma physics at the Assistant Research Professor rank. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track position. The position will entail research and operations support for the Compact Toroidal Hybrid (CTH) experiment located at Auburn University. In addition to CTH duties, collaboration opportunities exist with the Wendelstein 7-X (W7-X) and DIII-D fusion facilities as part of already established research endeavors on those devices. The successful candidate in this position will have a variety of responsibilities including: conducting research and overseeing operation of CTH; interacting closely with the fusion group’s technical personnel, mentoring post-doctoral researchers, and graduate students; and assisting with synergistic activities between the CTH, W7-X, and DIII-D devices.
