    Overview


    The Department of Developmental, Molecular and Chemical Biology conducts research of basic biochemical and molecular mechanisms involved in cell functions in both the normal and diseased states, as well as teaching students at the Medical, Dental Schools, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.



    What You'll Do


    Under close supervision of the Principal Investigator, the senior research technician will conduct a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols, which will primarily include performing assays, tissue culture, and animal work. This technician will also record test results, analyze data using basic statistics, and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.



    What We're Looking For


    Basic Requirements:



    • Master’s degree with one or more years of laboratory experience or a bachelor’s degree in science with at least three years of laboratory experience

    • Perform routine techniques in tissue culture working with both primary cell culture as well as cell lines

    • Performs routine assays, such as PCR, immunohistochemistry, western blot, and ELISA.

    • Animal (mouse) work, including animal restraint,  intraperitoneal injections, and tissue dissections

    • Record accurate records and results of experiments, with limited data interpretation such as basic statistics, graph plotting, and image acquisition

    • Maintain laboratory equipment/stocks and orders/keep inventory of supplies


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures, specifically tissue culture and working with mice



    Pay Range

    Minimum $24.30, Midpoint $28.90, Maximum $33.50

    Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
