  • Laboratory Instructor II (Tenure Track) in Statistics and Data Science

    The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure-track Laboratory Instructor II position, starting on July 1, 2025.


    We seek an individual with strong commitment and expertise in Statistics and Data Science. Applicants must hold, at a minimum, an M.Sc. in Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related discipline. The candidate’s expertise should align with the undergraduate laboratories offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, particularly those involving Python and R programming languages, statistical computing, statistical learning and predictive modeling, linear statistical methods, linear and discrete optimization, numerical analysis, and other related subjects.


    Key Responsibilities:



    • Teach, manage, and design undergraduate laboratories in Statistics, Data Science, and Applied Mathematics.

    • Train, mentor, and supervise graduate teaching assistants.

    • Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-level administration and service.


    Qualifications:


    The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, particularly in a statistics or data science laboratory setting. They should be adept at implementing best practices in teaching and adopting modern approaches to laboratory instruction. Experience in personnel and/or computer management is an asset. We are looking for someone who is innovative, enthusiastic, and collegial, with the ability to engage with colleagues and students in a professional and fair-minded manner.


    Candidates will be evaluated based on their past experiences and their potential for future contributions to high-quality, laboratory-based teaching.
