    Overview


    Research in the Department of Developmental, Molecular, and Chemical Biology is focused on understanding fundamental biological mechanisms in healthy and diseased cells and organisms. The department provides education and training to students in the Medical School, Dental School, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.



    What You'll Do


    A researcher is sought to support work in a molecular virology and cancer biology laboratory in the Department of Developmental, Molecular, and Chemical Biology at the Tufts University School of Medicine. Work in the laboratory focuses on human papillomaviruses and the mechanisms by which these viruses cause cancer and alter host cell signaling pathways. The duties of the new hire will include general laboratory management and organization, design and implementation of experiments, and data management and analysis. Candidates should have experience with general molecular and cell biology techniques including but not limited to DNA and RNA analysis, protein techniques, cell culture, and basic microscopy. Outstanding organizational and communication skills and a strong work ethic are essential.



    • Lab management: supply ordering, restocking, organization and maintenance

    • Cell culture

    • General molecular and cell biology techniques

    • Research design, record keeping, and analysis

    • Additional duties as assigned



    What We're Looking For


    Basic Requirements:



    • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through BA/BS in life sciences-related field such as biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or immunology with at least 1 year of laboratory research experience required.


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • MS in life sciences-related field such as biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or immunology with 2-3 years of laboratory research experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education, preferred.


     


    Pay Range

    Minimum $24.30, Midpoint $28.90, Maximum $33.50

    Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
