POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
(This is a grant-funded position through 06/30/2026. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)
Work Location: Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center (AGGRC) at 2288 Gourrier Ave, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70820.
Position Description: The individual will be expected to perform a variety of duties as a research associate at AGGRC. These duties include supervision of student employees, conducting basic laboratory techniques including reproductive biology and cryopreservation research, and managing aquatic research animals including fish, amphibians, and invertebrates. Current projects would require the successful applicant to cooperate with various personnel of the AGGRC and related units in joint tasks.
Qualification Requirements: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in the field of biological sciences with an emphasis in marine biology. Candidates must have strong written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent leadership and organizational skills. Training in animal husbandry and water chemistry is required.
