- Academic Level A or B, Base Salary: $90,276 p.a. – $102,013 p.a. plus leave loading and a generous employer’s contribution to superannuation. Visa sponsorship is available if required.
About the opportunity
Applications are invited for an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer (Level A/B) to join in teaching of experimental marine ecology and temperate marine ecosystems; build an active research program in a marine biological discipline; develop internal and external partnerships to support funding applications and research programs; and take an active role in supervision of honours and research students.

As such, we see the importance in recruiting talent aligned to these values in the pursuit of research excellence and are seeking to recruit for an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Marine Temperate Reef Ecology role within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, who will be responsible to:
- Deliver teaching in experimental marine ecology and temperate marine ecosystems.
- Build an active research program in a marine biological discipline.
- Develop internal and external partnerships to support funding applications and research programs.
- Take an active role in supervision of honours and research students.
For appointment at level A you must have completed a PhD in Marine Biology or closely related discipline. You must provide evidence of a developing publication record and be able to demonstrate your ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
For appointment at Level B, in addition to the above, you must will be able to demonstrate capacity to build student rapport and innovative teaching in experimental marine ecology including fieldwork. You must also demonstrate a capacity to coordinate units of study and have a strong record, relative to opportunity, of securing competitive research funding to support a research programme and producing scholarly outputs.
It is essential for the candidate to have an advanced experimental design and analysis and a full driving licence.
