About St. Norbert College

Institution: St. Norbert College
  De Pere, WI

St. Norbert College (SNC) is a private, Catholic liberal-arts college located in De Pere, Wisconsin. Founded in 1898 by Abbot Bernard Pennings, it is the only Norbertine-sponsored institution of higher education in the world.

SNC’s mission is to provide “an educational environment that fosters intellectual, spiritual, and personal development.” The College’s identity is grounded in three traditions:

- The Catholic tradition, which emphasizes human dignity, faith and reason, and justice.
- The Norbertine tradition, which emphasizes community (communio), service (actio), contemplation (contemplatio) and commitment to place (stabilitas loci).
- The liberal arts tradition, which emphasizes broad and deep learning, lifelong inquiry, and development of the whole person.

SNC offers undergraduate programs in the liberal arts, sciences, business, and professional studies, along with select graduate programs.

The College emphasizes teaching and mentoring in a residential environment, and student outcomes are strong: over 91% of graduates are employed or in graduate school within nine months of graduation.

The campus is set in De Pere, Wisconsin (just outside Green Bay), providing a residential, community-oriented setting.

SNC emphasizes service, community engagement, and formation of character alongside academic learning.

The college culture underscores “whole-person development” through study, reflection, wellness, and action.
