Global carbon cycle, atmospheric radiation as it relates to climate, numerical modeling of earth-atmospheric-ocean system and greenhouse gas emissions and control policies. Currently he is developing a state-of-the-art earth system model, known as the Integrated Science Assessment Model (ISAM). This integrated model links separate climate, dynamics, radiation, chemistry, carbon cycle and biospheric modules to enable the study of interactive processes throughout the earth system. Note that earlier version of ISAM formed the basis of the projections of CO2 concentrations reported in IPCC (2001).
