Dr. Shin’s current research interests include (1) infrared spectroscopy-based structure analysis of biomolecules in solutions and (2) investigating dissociation energetics of metal ion-biomolecule complexes in the gas phase. A Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer and an electrospray ionization mass spectrometer are routinely used in Dr. Shin’s lab.
Dr. Shin’s past research interests included structure elucidation of gas-phase ionic and neutral clusters through vibrational spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy, and photofragmentation mass spectrometry.
