Expertise: My primary interest is the synthesis and characterization of new inorganic materials which may find use in alternative energy or energy-saving applications. We are currently focusing on doped transition metal oxides as potential cathode supports in fuel cells. In addition we are researching new oxide and oxynitride luminescent materials for use in solid-state lighting, and also synthesizing new nitride compounds using lithium nitride as a flux.
