Expertise: Dr. Albert’s current research interests involve investigating chemical reactions taking place on aerosol particles and how molecules on the surfaces of these particles influence their reactivity. Dr. Albert is interested in modifying the surfaces of soot particles and liquid surfaces to determine how those changes affect the reactivity of gas-phase molecules impinging on the surface. From a chemical education perspective, Dr. Albert is interested in developing low-cost instruments for teaching about and using instrumentation in classrooms.
