Work in our group lies on the interface between physical, inorganic, and atmospheric chemistry. Novel aspects of molecular structure, unusual types of bonding, and microsolvation as a driving force for chemical change are the central themes of our work. Whenever possible, we tackle problems through the study of systems which are or may be active in the Earth's atmosphere. This approach allows us to blend basic physical and inorganic chemistry with topics of environmental importance. High resolution microwave spectroscopy and computational chemistry are our primary tools.
