Expertise: In my lab, we focus on the environmental behavior of anthropogenic contaminants (radioisotopes, fertilizer) and elemental cycling within natural and engineered environmental systems. This includes both experiments in the lab using simulated natural materials and field work at local water bodies such as the Glacier Creek Preserve. I am also the only chemistry faculty member who requires a machete to complete research projects.
