Dr Rabbi is a soil scientist with expertise in soil organic matter stabilisation, root architecture, rhizosphere processes, soil physics, and advanced statistical techniques. Currently Rabbi is involved in working on enhancing our understanding of biophysical processes that operate in the rhizosphere of cereals and legumes. He is using X-ray micro-tomography to study soil and plant roots in soil. Dr Rabbi is interested in studying organic matter dynamics in soil under different land uses and soil management regimes. His research also focuses on the mechanisms of organic carbon stabilisation in soil. He believes studying soil organic matter dynamic is essential for improving the productive capacity of soil and ensuring food security.
