Expertise: I mostly work on using geometric ideas, for example differential or convex geometry, in Theoretical Statistics. Recently these geometric methods have been used to understand inference in mixture models. Also I am interested in developing new techniques for dealing with data in the form of firing times of sets of neurons and how these, so called, spike trains code for information in the brain.
