Expertise: The Peralta-Yahya laboratory seeks to develop foundational technologies to more effectively engineer biological systems for chemical synthesis. Applications for this work can be found in areas ranging from energy to healthcare to defense. Using an interdisciplinary approach rooted in concepts and techniques from chemistry, biology and engineering, our work will push the synthetic capabilities of biological systems for the production of chemicals.
