Expertise: Bioinorganic chemistry. My lab is interested in examining various types of DNA damage caused by the transition metal, chromium, in order to understand how this metal causes cancer. We use uv spectroscopic methods and differential scanning calorimetry to examine changes to DNA stability caused by chromium-induced DNA damage. In addition, we are exploring the use of protein microarrays to search for cellular proteins that interact with these lesions.
