Expertise: Renbin's research interests cover many aspects of galaxy evolution. He studies post-starburst galaxies to probe how star formation mysteriously stopped in these galaxies. He studies active galactic nuclei to understand how the supermassive black holes in galaxy centers co-evolve with their host galaxies. He also studies the elemental abundances and structure of the interstellar medium to probe the baryon cycles and gas flows in galaxies
